Ebony Johnson is the owner of SOUL Sweet (formerly Ebby-Cakes). When she was younger, Ebony eagerly assisted her mom with baking desserts for family gatherings. At the age of 15, she decided to take her passion for baking to another level by launching her first business, Ebby-Cakes. In her effort to master her craft, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from East Carolina University to improve her baking, business knowledge, and customer relations skills.

SOUL Sweet was created in the summer of 2016 after the decision to rebrand Ebby-Cakes. Ebony has loved Classic Soul and R&B music ever since her mom listened to oldies radio stations, cassettes, and CDs of artists like The Jackson 5, Prince, and The Temptations during long road trips. It was obvious that Soul music must be the core of the business for rebranding since Ebony is always humming, singing, or listening to Soul music every time she turns on the oven.

The mission of SOUL Sweet focuses on not just creating delicious baked goods, but also creating an experience for her customers that is oh SOUL Sweet!
